It all begins in 2020, after O’Bled closes. A question tossed around the family: “Shall we buy it?” And an answer that opens up the possibilities: “Why not?”
Pauline Abetel makes the idea her economics bachelor project. With her father Guillaume, she begins the first trials: a kit in the kitchen, then a 30-litre setup in the bathroom.
The adventure then moves into nearby agricultural premises. In July 2021, brewing becomes professional. La Talentueuse puts down roots in Chavornay: a daughter, a father, and a desire to bring Vaud terroir to life in their beers.
In 2022, the brewery acquires its first bottling line and its beers obtain the “Vaud Certifié d’ici” certification. The first “Binch’ de fête” is created for the Giron du Nord FVJC in Chavornay. Pauline completes her Bachelor’s studies.
In 2023, a chalet is installed in the brewery to host direct sales, visits and tastings. The Talentueux Gamay barrique is created with La Réserve des Corbeaux. A Limoncello made from beer distillate is also created. The first gift box brings together beers, wine and limoncello.
In 2024, a cheese vending machine is installed in front of the brewery. The announced closure of the only malt house in Vaud, in Bavois, leads to the decision to take over malting.
The first beer kegs arrive and the brewery is rearranged. Production switches to an isobarometric system, with beers carbonated directly in the tanks.
An amber beer is created to complete the core range.
In 2025, punchier new labels are introduced and the first afterworks take place in front of the brewery. The first brewing barley is harvested.
Premixed cocktails in kegs are created for events. The brewery takes part in the Yverdon-les-Bains Christmas market with the Vaud Certifié d’ici grocery shop.
The malting machine arrives in Chavornay.
In 2026, the brewery produces its first own malt and rearranges its premises with new fermenters. The first Pause Vaudoise seasonal beers are created.
La Talentueuse takes part in the Comptoir Nord Vaudois in Yverdon for the first time. A cold room allows stocks to be stored at a controlled temperature.
For its fifth anniversary, the brewery creates the anniversary beer Pousse. It symbolises the brewery’s evolution, barley from the Vaud terroir and the support received since its beginnings.
